  • Never skip a meal and eat foods that burn belly fat and low in saturated fats. Fat burning foods include protein and lean meat as well as complex carbohydrates–i.e., nuts, beans, green vegetables, oats, low–fat dairy, eggs, whole grains, etc. Some experts would even suggest having five to six mini meals each day instead of three main and larger meals.
  • Do weight train at least thrice a week. It does not only build your muscles, it also boosts your metabolism that could cause your body to burn calories even in your sleep.
  • Avoid getting stressed. Stress produces a substance called cortisol that could induce your body to store fat in your lower belly. Try doing some exercises that could relax your mind like yoga and meditation.
  • Increase daily activities. Things you could do to get more movement include taking a walk more often, taking the stairs sometime instead of using elevator or lift, playing with your kids, engaging in sports, etc.

 

  • Perform some cardio exercise. Most gym trainers would suggest around 20-25 minutes of cardio exercise at least three times a week. Heavy cardio exercise is not actually advisable as the body starts to burn muscle to produce energy every after 20 minutes.
